Common KitchenAid Problems We Repair in Central Florida

• Not cooling or fresh-food section warm: Dirty condenser coils, a failed condenser or evaporator fan, or a defrost problem that lets frost block the airflow. Built-in models have their coils at the top or bottom front grille, and they clog with dust and pet hair.
• Ice maker not working: A clogged water filter, a failed water inlet valve, a frozen fill tube or a failed ice maker module.
• Water dispenser slow or not working: A clogged filter, low water pressure or a frozen water line in the door.

• Not cleaning well: Clogged filters, blocked spray arms, a weak wash motor or a failed diverter. Florida’s hard water leaves scale that makes all of these worse.
• Not draining or water left in the bottom: A clogged filter, a blocked drain hose or a failed drain pump.
• Not drying: A failed heating element, a vent or fan problem, or rinse aid that has run out.

• Gas burner won’t light or keeps clicking: Dirty or wet burner caps, a cracked igniter or a failed spark module.
• Wall oven door lock stuck after self-clean: A failed lock motor, lock switch or control issue.
• Display errors or touch controls not responding: Control board, touch panel or sensor faults.

KitchenAid Microwave Repair

Built-in and over-the-range KitchenAid microwaves often fail with door switch problems, a blown fuse, or a failed high-voltage part. Microwaves can hold a dangerous charge even when unplugged, so we recommend leaving these repairs to a technician.

• Vacuum the refrigerator condenser coils twice a year.
• Replace the water filter every six months.
• Clean the dishwasher filter monthly and keep rinse aid filled, especially with Florida’s hard water.
• Use self-clean sparingly. The high heat can stress door locks, sensors and control boards; wipe spills early instead.
• Keep gas burner caps dry and seated correctly so the igniters work properly.

What to Check Before You Call

• Check the breaker and make sure the appliance has power.
• Write down any error code or flashing light pattern.
• For a dishwasher, check that the filter is clean and the drain hose isn’t kinked.
