Smart Doorbell Installation in Orlando, Clermont & Central Florida
See who’s at your door from anywhere. AMB Works installs your new video doorbell on your existing doorbell wiring, connects it to your Wi-Fi, and gets the app working before we leave.
Professional Video Doorbell Installation, Done Right the First Time
A video doorbell is one of the most useful upgrades you can make to a Florida home. You get a live view of your front step, a notification when someone rings or walks up, and a recorded clip when a package gets dropped off — or picked up by someone who shouldn’t have it.
Buying the device is easy. Getting it mounted level on stucco, wired correctly, working with your old chime, and reliably online is the part we handle.
AMB Works is a Clermont-based appliance repair company. Our technicians work carefully around low-voltage controls and finished surfaces every day, and we bring that care to smart doorbell installation across Lake, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Sumter, Polk, and Marion counties.
Here’s the short version of how we work:
- Install only. We install new smart doorbells. We don’t troubleshoot or repair doorbells that are already installed.
- Existing wiring only. We connect wired doorbells to your existing doorbell button wiring and your existing doorbell transformer. We don’t run new wires or do electrical work.
- Upfront labor price. Installation runs 185–250 depending on the device and your home. The doorbell itself is purchased separately by you.
If you’re also upgrading your thermostat or front door lock, see our smart thermostat installation and smart lock installation pages — many customers do all three in one visit.
What’s Included in a Smart Doorbell Installation
Every installation covers the full job from the old button coming off the wall to a working doorbell on your phone:
- Compatibility check — before we start, we confirm the doorbell you bought is a match for your existing wiring, transformer (where it’s accessible and labeled), and chime.
- Removal of your old doorbell button — the old button comes off cleanly, and we inspect the existing low-voltage wires.
- Mounting — we install the mounting bracket level and secure on your siding, stucco, brick, or trim, using the right anchors for the surface.
- Wedge or corner mounts — if your device includes (or you’ve purchased) an angled wedge or corner mount, we install it so the camera faces your walkway, driveway, or porch instead of the wall across from it.
- Wired connection — for wired models, we connect the doorbell to your existing doorbell wires.
- Chime connection — if your doorbell came with a chime kit or power kit, we install it at your existing chime following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Battery models — for battery-powered doorbells, we mount the device securely and set it up. Many battery models can also connect to existing doorbell wires for trickle charging or to ring your chime, when the manufacturer supports it.
- App setup and Wi-Fi connection — we help you download the manufacturer’s app, connect the doorbell to your Wi-Fi network, and confirm live video and ring notifications are working on your phone.
- Cleanup — we take the old button with us if you’d like and leave the area clean.
Have your Wi-Fi password and app account login ready (or create the account before we arrive).
Video Doorbells We Install
We install most consumer video doorbells sold at major retailers, including:
- Ring Video Doorbell (wired models) — we install Ring wired doorbells on existing doorbell wiring, along with any chime or power accessory included in the box. Ring battery models can be mounted too.
- Google Nest Doorbell (wired) — we install the wired Nest Doorbell on existing doorbell wiring and existing transformer, including the chime connector that ships with it.
- Arlo video doorbells — wired and wire-free Arlo models.
- Eufy video doorbells — wired and battery Eufy doorbells. If your model uses a HomeBase, we’ll set that up next to your router as part of the install.
- Blink Video Doorbell — mounted as a battery doorbell, or connected to existing doorbell wiring if you’d like it to ring your existing chime.
- SimpliSafe video doorbells and similar models — wired doorbells that connect to existing doorbell wiring and pair with an app or home security system.
Don’t see your doorbell? Call or text us the make and model before you buy, and we’ll tell you if it fits your existing setup.
AMB Works is an independent installer. We install these brands — we aren’t affiliated with, or acting on behalf of, any doorbell manufacturer. Your device’s warranty is between you and the manufacturer, and product registration is done in your own app account.
Compatibility Check: What We Do and What We Don’t
Here’s exactly where our scope begins and ends, so there are no surprises on install day.
What we work with
- Existing wired doorbell button wiring. If your home already has a working wired doorbell button, those low-voltage wires are typically what a wired video doorbell connects to.
- Your existing doorbell transformer. Video doorbells need more steady power than an old push-button. Each manufacturer lists a required voltage range. Where your transformer is accessible and labeled, we check its rating against your device’s requirement before we install.
- Existing mechanical chimes. The traditional “ding-dong” chime with metal bars is the most common setup, and most wired video doorbells are designed to work with it — often with a small chime kit or power kit included in the box.
- Existing digital or electronic chimes. Some musical or electronic chimes don’t play well with certain video doorbells. Depending on the brand, the fix may be a setting in the app, a manufacturer accessory, or using a plug-in chime instead. We’ll check your chime and tell you what the manufacturer recommends.
- Homes with no wired doorbell. A battery-powered video doorbell is usually the right choice. We mount it, set it up, and you recharge it as needed. Many brands sell a plug-in chime that works with battery doorbells.
What we don’t do
AMB Works does not do electrical work. If your home needs any of the following, we’ll refer you to a licensed electrician:
- New doorbell wiring runs — including homes with no existing doorbell wire, or existing wires that are broken, too short, or not reaching the button location.
- Transformer replacement or upgrades — if your existing transformer doesn’t meet your device’s power requirement, replacing or upgrading it is a job for an electrician.
- Any 120-volt (line-voltage) work — doorbell transformers connect to your home’s household wiring, and we don’t work on that side.
- Panel work of any kind.
We also don’t troubleshoot or repair existing smart doorbells, chimes, or doorbell systems, and we don’t troubleshoot home Wi-Fi networks or routers. Our job is installing your new doorbell and getting it connected during the visit.
If your doorbell turns out not to be compatible with your existing wiring, transformer, or chime, we’ll explain what we found so you can decide on your next step — whether that’s a battery model, a manufacturer accessory, or calling an electrician first and having us back to finish.
A note about Wi-Fi at the front door
Your doorbell is only as good as the Wi-Fi signal where it’s mounted. Front doors are often the farthest point from the router, and Florida block-and-stucco walls can weaken the signal. Many doorbells also need a 2.4 GHz network, so check your device’s requirements.
During the install, we check the signal strength the app reports at the door. If it’s weak, we’ll let you know so you can decide whether to move your router or add a mesh system or extender. We don’t install or troubleshoot networking equipment, but we’ll point you in the right direction.
Smart Doorbell Installation Pricing
Installation runs 185–250, depending on the device and your site.
That price is for installation labor. The device is not included — you buy the doorbell you want, and we install it.
Where your job lands in that range depends on things like:
- Wired versus battery installation
- Whether a chime kit or power kit needs to be installed at your existing chime
- Your mounting surface (wood trim, siding, stucco, or brick)
- Whether a wedge or corner mount is needed
- Whether a hub or base station (like a Eufy HomeBase) is part of the setup
We confirm your price before we start.
How Your Smart Doorbell Installation Works
- Call or text us at (352) 757-0949. Tell us the doorbell make and model and whether you currently have a wired doorbell. A photo of your existing doorbell button and chime helps.
- We confirm compatibility and pricing. Based on what you send, we’ll tell you if your setup looks like a fit and give you a price range.
- We schedule your visit. Have the doorbell on hand (unopened is fine) and your Wi-Fi password ready.
- We check everything on site. Our technician confirms the existing wires, transformer rating where accessible, and chime type before anything comes off the wall.
- We install the doorbell. Power to the doorbell circuit is turned off at your breaker while we work. We mount the bracket, connect the existing doorbell wires, install any chime or power kit from the box, and mount the doorbell.
- We connect it and test it. We set up the app, connect the doorbell to Wi-Fi, and test the ring, the chime, live view, and motion alerts on your phone.
- We walk you through it. We show you the settings that matter most and answer questions before we leave.
If anything during the check shows the job needs electrical work, we stop there and explain why — no pressure, no guesswork.
Why a Video Doorbell Makes Sense in Central Florida
Package deliveries in the heat
A video doorbell alerts you when a delivery arrives and records who approaches the door, so you can bring packages inside before afternoon heat, rain, or a porch thief gets to them. Many models also offer two-way talk to tell a driver where to leave a package.
Snowbirds and seasonal homes
If you split your year between Florida and somewhere else, a video doorbell lets you see who’s coming and going while the house is empty — landscapers, pool service, pest control, neighbors checking in, or someone who shouldn’t be there. Pair it with a smart thermostat to keep an eye on indoor temperature and humidity while you’re away.
Vacation rentals and rental properties
For vacation rental owners and property managers around Orlando, Four Corners, Reunion, and Lake County, a video doorbell helps confirm guest arrivals, check-out times, and service visits without driving over. Combined with a smart lock for keyless entry, it makes turnovers easier to manage remotely. Be sure to follow your booking platform’s rules about exterior cameras and disclose the doorbell camera in your listing.
If you manage rentals, we also handle appliance repair for short-term rental properties — see our vacation rental appliance repair page.
Hurricane season tips
A video doorbell is useful during storm season, but it’s important to know its limits:
- Wired doorbells need power. When the power goes out, a wired doorbell and your chime stop working until power returns.
- No internet, no alerts. Even battery doorbells need your Wi-Fi and internet service to send alerts and upload clips. If your router or internet provider is down, the doorbell can’t reach you.
- Charge battery models before a storm. If you have a battery doorbell, top off the charge when a storm is in the forecast.
- Check the mount afterward. After high winds, take a quick look to make sure the doorbell and any wedge mount are still secure and the camera is clean.

Smart Doorbell Installation FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most about smart doorbell installation.
How much does smart doorbell installation cost?
Installation runs $185 to $250 depending on the device and your home. That price covers installation labor only. The doorbell itself is purchased separately by you, and we confirm your price before we start.
Can you install a video doorbell if I don't have a wired doorbell?
Yes, if you choose a battery-powered video doorbell. We mount it, set it up, and connect it to your Wi-Fi. We do not run new doorbell wiring. If you want a wired doorbell where no wiring exists, you will need a licensed electrician to run the wire first.
Will my video doorbell work with my existing chime?
Most wired video doorbells work with a standard mechanical chime, often using a chime kit or power kit included with the device. Some digital or electronic chimes are not compatible with certain models. We check your chime before installing and tell you what the manufacturer recommends.
What if my doorbell transformer is not strong enough?
We check your existing transformer's rating where it is accessible and labeled. If it does not meet your doorbell's power requirement, replacing or upgrading the transformer is electrical work, and we will refer you to a licensed electrician. A battery-powered doorbell may also be an option.
Do you set up the app and connect the doorbell to Wi-Fi?
Yes. We help you set up the manufacturer's app, connect the doorbell to your Wi-Fi network, and test live video and ring alerts during the install. We do not troubleshoot home Wi-Fi networks, routers, or existing smart devices.
Can you fix my existing Ring or Nest doorbell that stopped working?
No. AMB Works installs new smart doorbells only and does not troubleshoot or repair existing doorbells, chimes, or doorbell wiring. For an existing device, start with the manufacturer's support team.
